Oriental College was established on 21st April, 1964 with the aim of providing higher education on par with standard. It persistently seeks and adopts innovative methods to improve the quality of higher education on a consistent basis. Its parent Body the Mohammadan Education Committee, Patna was founded in 1882. It also manages a High school, the M.A.A. School which was established in 1884.
The College has ambitious students who want to reach their goals. Experienced and learned teachers are strongly encouraged to nurture the students. The highly motivated students in the college are a constant source of pride to the teachers. At present the college is functioning well under the able guidance of its G.B.headed by Prof. (DR.) S. M. Sajid (RETD.) and under the secretaryship of Mr. Matiur Rahman, joint Secretary Mr. Md. Moeezuddin and has acquired the position of one of the premier colleges of Bihar under Patliputra University, where at present about more than five thousand students are getting education in different faculties of Arts, Science, Commerce and in Vocational courses.
College offered Major Courses in Hindi, English, Urdu, Pali, Sanskrit, History, Political Science, Economics, Philosophy, Psychology, Sociology, Home Science, Ancient History and Geography in Arts Faculty.
College offered Major Courses in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Botany and Zoology in Science Faculty.
College offered Bachelor in Commerce in Commerce Department.
The IQAC has been constituted as per the recommendations of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). the IQAC becomes a part of the institution’s system and works towards realization of the goals of quality .........

Our College Central library is well stocked with text books, reference books, magazines & News Paper collection. The library has an open and fully automated accession barcoded system and Wi-Fi Internet facility.
